Upholstery Store: Food & Wine

Cleverly named after the former occupant of the space, an actual upholstery store, and located on the same landmark corner as its sister establishment, Wallsé, in the West Village, Upholstery Store first opened its doors in July 2009. A seafood-focused restaurant, Upholstery Store: Food & Wine is a speakeasy-like retreat that serves great food as well as an extensive wine list and creative craft cocktails. Upholstery Store is perfect for many occasions - a post-work gathering or late night rendezvous, first date or 100th date. A true gem that is beloved by West Village locals, the smallest venue in Kurt Gutenbrunner’s empire may in fact be its most cherished and best-kept secret.

Position

Seafood-focused restaurant Upholstery Store: Food and Wine is looking for experienced, hard-working, and passionate bartenders to join our dynamic team in the West Village and help manage and expand. The position is full time and flexibility with schedule is preferred. 

Qualified candidates should have previous experience in a casual level restaurant/bar environment and more  importantly, a dedication to grow with the company and establish a career in the industry. 

Skills and Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of similar experience  in a NYC establishment
• Must have serving experience as well
• Passion for mixology and fine dining industry 
• Commitment to excellence and success
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent customer service
• Classic Food / Wine Service
• Food Safety Knowledge
• Breadcrumbs POS, Resy Reservation System
• Hospitable and engaging personality and professional appearance
• Positive, intuitive/proactive, and collaborative team player
• Flexible schedule - availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
