The Johns Hopkins Hospital Surgical Progressive Care Unit is a 32-bed unit caring for adult surgical patients. The unit offers three levels of care: Floor, Telemetry, and Intermediate Medical Care (IMC). Our patient population is diverse and leads to a variety of skills to learn. Our unit works together as a team to provide excellent care to patients and their families. We encourage both professional and personal advancement and offer many opportunities for committee and unit involvement.

• As a senior clinical nurse, serve as unit technical resource in absence of a Level 4 career professional.
• Assists in developing staff schedules.
• Observes patients and ensures maximum nursing care is being provided; determines the need for additional or modified services.
• Ensures established unit priorities are implemented and makes some decisions regarding patient care.
• Participates in patient care conferences, quality assurance committees and in-service presentations.

Qualifications:

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Active Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) or Compact State Registered Nursing license is required.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• At least two years of clinical Registered Nursing experience required.

• Nurses hired with an Associates degree in nursing must enroll in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of your start date.

Salary Range: Minimum $42.34 per hour - Maximum $65.62 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
