HDR is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to support our national Control Systems practice, focusing on building management systems (BMS) and automated facility support systems across various industries including tech, healthcare, research, and life sciences. Primary responsibilities include: Collaborating with senior engineers to produce project deliverables such as specifications, control system drawings, and sequences of operations. Coordinating work among multidisciplinary teams during design development and construction phases. Managing workload and project schedules to ensure timely delivery. Tracking project budgets and adjusting efforts accordingly. Conducting design development, schematic, and contract document review sessions with clients. Reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting field observations. Maintaining client relationships and participating in marketing and design meetings. Utilizing CADD software (AutoCAD, Revit) for document development. Reporting project status and quality updates to management. Growth opportunities: Exposure to multiple market sectors and core control system services. Training to develop expertise as a subject matter expert. Serving as Engineer of Record for control system documentation. Participation in industry events. Advancement to Senior Control Systems Engineer. Required qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Experience designing BMS systems and knowledge of network, PLC, DDC hardware and software. Knowledge of HMI software and control system sequences. Experience with data centers and healthcare environments is a plus. Knowledge of communication protocols like BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet/IP. Understanding of cybersecurity for control systems is a plus. PLC and DDC programming experience is advantageous. Additional qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field. PE license preferred. Experience with SCADA systems and control hardware/software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Commitment to our inclusive, employee-owned culture.
