Must be a US Citizen with a Secret or higher security clearance.

This role will be performed onsite in Huntsville, AL.

Summit TRC is looking for an experienced and motivated Cyber Security Engineer focused on building secure systems and implement cyber solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical base who can identify the problem and build a hardened solution.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in depth technical scans on hardware, operating systems, and software to identify system vulnerabilities
• Perform necessary system configuration tasks on Linux and some Windows machines to mitigate vulnerabilities
• Perform installation, configuration, and troubleshooting tasks to create a more secure and hardened ecosystem for software and systems
• Use tools like STIGs, ACAS, NESSUS, and the NIST RMF for SCA events
• Maintain excellent documentation of all technical material
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve mission objectives

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree or higher in a relevant field
• CompTIA Sec+ certification
• Experience building hardened solutions for systems and software from the ground up
• Strong experience with Linux based Operating Systems
• Experience writing basic scripts in languages like Python, Powershell, or Bash
• Experience working with SCAPs, STIGs, ACAS, Nessus, etc
• Experience using tools to scan source code
• Experience working with Networking tools like Cisco products
• Experience working with Virtualization tools like VMware, VirtualBox, or various hypervisors
