Primary Purpose

Directors of Sales are key team members responsible for driving revenue and partnership growth for omnichannel retail media programs. This is a player-coach role managing a personal book of business and leading a POD with direct reports.

The Director of Sales focuses on generating revenue throughout the pre- and post-sales process across ADRM, managing existing accounts and developing new partnerships with brands and agencies. The role involves collaboration with Category Merchant Teams to support business growth across ADUSA banners.

The Sales Lead will coordinate sales and manage client relationships in CPG categories across our capabilities, including Onsite (Display, SPA, SFV, High Impact), Off-site through partners like Epsilon, and At-Store including connected store capabilities like in-store screens and audio.

ADRM is part of a global framework, connecting with peers in the Global Ahold Delhaize Community to develop and deliver best-in-class retail media solutions.

Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at core locations and 2 remote days. Core locations include Salisbury, NC; Chicago, IL; Quincy, MA; Carlisle, PA; Scarborough, ME; and Hyattsville, MD.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze campaign performance and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless experience for retailers and suppliers.
  • Lead a cross-brand HUB representing ADRM to Category Teams, providing updates and collaborating on new items, innovation, and marketing initiatives.
  • Communicate with local brand teams regarding account outreach, pipeline, messaging, SKU prioritization, and URL confirmation.
  • Track outreach and sales activity using CRM tools like Salesforce.
  • Lead top-tier negotiations with suppliers, delivering presentations that articulate ADRM’s value and growth opportunities.
  • Coach and mentor team members, conducting evaluations and career development.
  • Act as a Trusted Advisor to CPG partners, leading with data-driven solutions to support growth across ADUSA brands.
  • Manage relationships with top suppliers within the category.
  • Use networks and intelligence tools to identify and contact prospective brand and agency contacts.
  • Research and offer insights on trends and ideas to drive interest and relationships.
  • Identify funding opportunities within brand organizations to unlock and enhance relationships.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of retail, eCommerce, digital monetization, and AdTech industry.
  • Experience working with Category Merchants, Shopper Marketing, and Loyalty teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and solution-oriented problem solving.
  • Data-driven mindset, familiar with tools like Circana, PowerBi, and research methods.
  • Experience with CRM, Sales Intelligence, and Ad Server platforms, or willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suite products.
  • Proven sales success and media contacts at CPG companies and agencies.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Understanding of the CPG environment through direct sales or exposure.
  • Comfort with media products, strategic planning, and industry terminology.
  • Teamwork and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking for media recommendations and revenue goals.

Salary Range: $104,783 - $157,174
