The Pratt & Whitney, Middletown Site Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) organization is seeking an experienced environment, health, and safety (EH&S) Professional to support and execute EH&S requirements at a multi-tenant large site. The individual will interact extensively with labor union representatives, management, supervisors, hourly and salary employees on various projects and teams. Responsibilities include partnering with line supervision to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations and adherence to P&W procedures and RTX EH&S Standard Practices; supporting the administration of an EH&S Council; providing technical direction to line management and council subcommittee teams; managing Health and Safety programs such as Contractor Safety Management, Elevated Work, Emergency Response; working on cross-functional projects; responding to onsite medical incidents and spill response; coordinating and conducting specialized Health and Safety audits and inspections; conducting trend analysis and developing corrective/preventive actions; identifying opportunities to integrate EH&S programs into business operations; participating in pollution prevention and waste reduction initiatives; assisting line management with investigations and mistake proofing; identifying and correcting unsafe conditions; providing and ensuring EH&S training; and working comfortably on the manufacturing floor environment. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience with minimum 8 years EH&S regulatory compliance experience or an Advanced Degree with minimum 5 years experience, EH&S regulatory and management systems knowledge. Preferred qualifications include experience in a union manufacturing environment, developing and implementing Safety and Health Programs, mentoring and training experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, continuous improvement experience, and additional certifications such as CSP, CIH.P.E. or CHMM.
