Global Director of Finance

Description:

The Global Director of Finance is a key strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of finance, budgeting, auditing, and financial compliance within the organization. Reporting to the CEO, this position plays a crucial role in ensuring financial integrity and operational efficiency across the organization’s global offices.

Key responsibilities include overseeing accounts receivable, payroll, revenue recognition, tax returns, audits, and cash flow management; leading a diverse, high-performing finance team and ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting best practices; enhancing and managing financial systems, ensuring internal controls and seamless use of accounting software (Intacct); and reviewing and overseeing budgets for proposals and contracts valued over $300,000, managing associated risks.

The director will collaborate with senior management and external stakeholders to drive financial success and sustainability. Additional responsibilities include strategic leadership: contributing to the organization's strategic vision, supporting financial alignment with organizational goals, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree is required, with a relevant advanced degree and/or CPA certification preferred. Proficient in nonprofit accounting practices, audits, and financial analysis, including the 990 tax return process and compliance with regulatory requirements. A collaborative leader with experience managing diverse teams across multiple regions and navigating complex, multicultural environments. Strong ethical standards and attention to detail. A qualified accountant with a strong background in financial management in the social sector, preferably with nonprofit experience.

Benefits:

Excellent benefits package and a competitive salary range of $215,000-$240,000 commensurate with experience. This full-time position is based in San Francisco, CA, with one day per week in the office and four days remote.
