Role Overview As the IP Operations Manager of a Global IP Operations Team, you will collaborate with a talented group of in-house lawyers and legal professionals to support and optimize legal operations processes, including contract, patent, and trademark filings, knowledge management, and e-billing. You will also work on IT roadmap planning, data analysis, and managing software tools related to Intellectual Property. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee the IP Department’s tools and technology portfolio, including vendor selection, implementation, testing, and training. Ensure IP data integrity and collaborate with IP teams on system performance and technological solutions. Coordinate with corporate IT on system integrations, upgrades, and data migrations. Identify opportunities to leverage technology for business challenges, such as reducing workload and increasing data quality and analytics. Create self-help tools and develop online resources and training materials. Document policies, procedures, and guidelines, and develop an education plan. Advance digital and operational priorities, managing critical IP projects to support legal and business objectives. Manage vendors and project teams, ensuring clear communication of tasks, costs, and expectations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business or Technology preferred. 8-10 years of relevant experience in IP Operations and IP Software, preferably in large, global teams. Experience in private practice and in-house multinational environments. Strong project management skills, with experience leading large projects in legal or IP departments. Knowledge of patent, design, and trademark filing procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with IP technology tools. Experience with vendor contracts, IP system migrations, and e-billing systems. Excellent communication skills in English. Skills and Capabilities Developing policies, strategic planning, and stakeholder consensus building. Managing external counsel and vendor relationships. Building strong relationships within the legal operations community. Effective communication, collaboration, and influence in global, multicultural environments.
