About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the design, coordination, and execution of HVAC and plumbing system projects across sectors including education, public works, transportation, and government. This is a leadership-level role ideal for an individual looking to elevate their impact and advance within the consulting engineering space.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee the mechanical and plumbing design process from planning through construction.
Perform and review calculations, load studies, energy modeling, and code compliance.
Lead and mentor junior engineering staff and coordinate cross-discipline teams.
Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and permit packages.
Collaborate with stakeholders including clients, code officials, contractors, and vendors.
Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and quality control plans.
Actively participate in business development, proposal writing, and client presentations.
Support and supervise all phases of project delivery including construction support and field investigations.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
12+ years of professional experience in mechanical systems design and consulting
Professional Engineer ( PE ) License (required)
Experience managing HVAC and plumbing design projects from start to finish
Proficiency in Microsoft Office , Revit , AutoCAD , and simulation tools (e.g., IESVE , Carrier HAP )
Solid knowledge of building codes and mechanical/plumbing standards
Proven leadership, coordination, and mentoring skills
Commissioning certifications ( CxA , BCxP ) a plus
PMP or CAPM certification is desirable
Experience with public and private sector clients
Understanding of various project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3)
Knowledge of fire protection systems and industrial mechanical systems
Work on high-impact infrastructure and facilities projects
Leadership growth within a supportive engineering environment
Exposure to a wide variety of project types and clients
Collaborate with a high-caliber technical team and gain long-term career visibility
