Paraprofessional - Special Education - Non-public School

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry is representing a well-established, non-public school in their search for Paraprofessionals. The school serves exclusively special education students from Kindergarten-12th grade in a full-year/12-month program. The Paraprofessional role is a direct hire/permanent position beginning immediately.

Salary: $27,000 annually ($17.30/hour)

Schedule: M-F 8am-2:30pm (30-hour work week, 6 hours/day)

Responsibilities for the Paraprofessional:

• Implementing daily instruction, activities, and behavior strategies
• Supporting student in their school activities
• Providing 1:1 support to school-age children with health/emotional special needs for the classroom setting
• Working closely with school staff and families
• Ensuring student safety during school hours

Requirements for the Paraprofessional:

• Associate’s Degree or higher is preferred
• A NYS Paraprofessional Certificate is a plus, not a must
• At least 1 year of previous experience working with special needs children in a special education setting
• Experience with children with developmental disabilities and other related disorders preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to provide 3 professional work related references
