Position Summary:
The Production Technician plays a vital role in supporting MBC's operations team in a variety of technical tasks. You’ll work alongside multiple departments to keep production running smoothly by staging raw materials, performing cleaning and sanitation procedures, and assisting in packaging beer, seltzer, soda, and spirits.

This role is a great entryway for those interested in food science, beverage production, or brewing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist brewing and packaging departments with day-to-day operations including malt milling, ingredient staging, brewhouse setup and cleanup, and packaging.
  • Perform cellar support tasks such as tank CIP (Clean-In-Place), line sanitation, and fermentation vessel prep.
  • Monitor and record key fermentation and cellar data as directed by brewers.
  • Clean and organize brewery spaces including the brewhouse, cellar, ingredient storage, and utility areas.
  • Support dry-hopping, yeast pitching, and transfers as trained.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of cleaning logs, batch info, and materials used.
  • Learn to safely handle and transfer chemicals used in brewery sanitation.
  • Perform quality checks such as temperature, gravity, and pH readings under brewer supervision.
  • Communicate regularly with brewing, lab, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, and quality standards as outlined in SOPs.
  • Represent Maui Brewing Co. with aloha and professionalism in all internal and external interactions.

Qualifications:

  • A strong interest in food science, brewing or beverage production.
  • High school diploma or GED required; brewing education or relevant coursework preferred.
  • Prior experience in a production, brewery, or food/beverage manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Ability to work any shift (mornings, afternoons, nights), including weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take direction from senior brewing staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Must be safety-minded and comfortable working with chemicals and equipment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and carry up to 55 lbs. (grain bags, kegs, hoses).
  • Move objects up to 150 lbs. along the ground (pallet jacks, kegs, etc.).
  • Stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Climb ladders and work in tight or elevated spaces.
  • Work in hot, cold, wet, and noisy environments.
  • Use appropriate PPE and follow safety procedures at all times.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift 55 lbs. from the ground to shoulder high.
  • Lift 110 lbs. from the ground to waist high and move 165 lbs. along the floor.
  • Climb stairs, ramps, and ladders.
  • Work in small and confined spaces.
  • Work on feet for several hours, including the entire shift if necessary.
  • Work in a loud environment with basic safety accommodations.
