PUBLIC NOTICE - DEA Criminal Investigators Join to apply for the PUBLIC NOTICE - DEA Criminal Investigators role at Drug Enforcement Administration . This is a public notice for DEA Criminal Investigator positions (GL-1811-7/9/11) open to U.S. Citizens. A job announcement will be posted on USAJobs on April 7th, 2025, and July 7th, 2025. Duties As a DEA Special Agent, you will work as part of an elite investigative team to combat drug trafficking and related crimes, making a difference for national and global security. Responsibilities include: Conducting complex criminal investigations targeting narcotics and drug-related activities; Preparing detailed investigative reports and delivering briefings to senior personnel and other agencies; Identifying and apprehending drug traffickers and individuals engaged in drug crimes; Gathering and analyzing evidence through various investigative means; Testifying in court or before grand juries. Additional duties may be assigned based on individual skills and experience. Requirements Conditions of employment include: U.S. Citizenship required; Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance; Willingness to accept relocation as needed; Pre-employment medical clearance and annual medical exams; Polygraph test required; Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 must register with Selective Service; Must be between 21 and 36 years old at appointment unless eligible for veteran or prior federal law enforcement exceptions; Successful completion of E-Verify employment verification; Must pass a trial period; Valid state driver's license required; Subject to random drug testing; Successful completion of DEA Basic Agent Training at Quantico, VA. Qualifications Applicants must meet specific qualification requirements, which vary by grade level (GL-07, GL-09, GS-11).
