We are seeking a passionate and qualified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to provide remote educational services to K-12 students across Louisiana. This position is 100% virtual, allowing you to work from home while making a real impact in the lives of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
As a DHH teacher, you will collaborate with school teams, families, and other service providers to deliver specialized instruction tailored to each students unique communication and learning needs.
Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with hearing impairments via online platforms
Support students in developing language, communication, auditory, and academic skills
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with IEP teams
Maintain regular communication with students, parents/guardians, and school staff
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
Participate in virtual IEP meetings, evaluations, and professional development opportunities
Current Louisiana certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education (required)
Bachelors or Masters degree in Deaf Education or a related field
Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing (virtual experience a plus)
Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL), Signed Exact English (SEE), or other relevant communication methods
Strong technology skills and ability to teach effectively in an online environment
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
Experience with virtual IEPs and remote case management
Familiarity with video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet) and digital instructional tools
Bilingual in English and ASL
