The Role
As a Commercial Roofing Estimator , you’ll play a critical role in project development—producing timely and precise cost estimates for re-roofing, repair, and new build opportunities. You’ll work closely with Sales, Project Management, and Field Operations to ensure each proposal is not only accurate but strategically aligned with client expectations and company standards.
This role reports into operational leadership and offers close collaboration across functional teams. Success will be measured by the accuracy of your estimates, the consistency of your delivery, and your contribution to securing profitable, high-quality work.
Responsibilities
Prepare accurate take-offs and cost estimates across various roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, BUR, metal, etc.)
Review architectural drawings, scopes, site conditions, and technical specs to inform proposals
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and subcontractor evaluations
Collaborate with Sales and Operations to develop bid strategies and winning solutions
Maintain up-to-date cost databases, vendor pricing, and historical bid libraries
Draft and present detailed proposals, budgets, and scopes of work
Ensure estimates are delivered on time and transitioned smoothly to Project Management
Track bid outcomes, win/loss data, and changes in CRM or estimating software
Assist with value engineering, revisions, and change order pricing as needed
Requirements
3+ years of experience estimating commercial roofing projects (re-roof and service preferred)
In-depth knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and installation techniques
Proficient in estimating tools such as The Edge, Bluebeam, or OnScreen Takeoff
Ability to interpret construction documents and technical drawings
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Comfortable working with field staff, clients, and executive teams
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site visits when required
Nice to Have:
Experience with national or multi-regional estimating work
Exposure to preconstruction strategy or estimating team leadership
Salary
Competitive base salary with performance-based bonuses , aligned with experience and market.

Hybrid or remote position with periodic travel for site inspections and team collaboration. Flexibility exists depending on proximity to project locations or company branches.
