Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Medical Informatics Project Manager to lead cross-functional initiatives in radiology IT, imaging systems, and clinical integration. This role focuses on managing the planning, coordination, and successful execution of projects that span PACS, RIS, EMRs, AI tools, image viewers, and healthcare data standards (DICOM, HL7, FHIR).

This is a strategic and collaborative role —not an engineering or developer position—but one that requires a strong understanding of technical workflows, stakeholder communication, and healthcare interoperability. The ideal candidate will have experience navigating clinical, operational, and technical domains to deliver high-impact solutions in healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of informatics projects involving radiology and clinical systems.
  • Collaborate with executive and clinical leadership to scope and prioritize initiatives.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans using tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or Monday.
  • Coordinate implementation and integration of PACS, RIS, LIS, EMR, AI solutions, and image viewers.
  • Ensure alignment with data interoperability standards: DICOM, HL7, FHIR.
  • Conduct risk assessments, manage issue resolution, and maintain communication across all workstreams.
  • Translate technical requirements (e.g., HL7 ADT, DICOM tags, REST APIs) into actionable workflows for stakeholders.
  • Provide post-project evaluation, knowledge transfer, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and secure handling of PHI.

Job Qualifications:

Required:

  • 7–10 years of project management experience in healthcare IT, medical informatics, or radiology systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of PACS, RIS, EMR, LIS, and image viewer technologies.
  • Familiarity with healthcare standards such as HL7, DICOM, and FHIR.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and working across clinical and technical departments.
  • Proficiency with modern project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana).

Preferred:

  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar project management certification.
  • Experience with AI/ML applications in diagnostic imaging.
  • Prior experience in academic medical centers or government healthcare systems.

What We Offer

  • A meaningful opportunity to lead projects that impact patient care and precision medicine.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge imaging informatics and healthcare technologies.
  • A collaborative, mission-driven team culture.
  • Competitive salary and full benefits package.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off (PTO)
  • Professional development support
  • Opportunities to work on next-generation imaging and informatics platforms
