Title: Sr. QA Specialist Location: Work from Home Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8:00AM - 5:00PM EST Note: This role is NOT open to C2C or 3rd party candidates The Senior IT Testing Specialist will take over an existing process (back-end testing), converting XML to PDFs. They will be responsible for extracting text/meta data, etc. in a high-volume environment; we are currently using Python for editing/automated testing. The Senior IT Testing Specialist will provide leadership and technical guidance to test teams while maintaining accountability across multiple functions. They will create test deliverables (for example, strategies, plans, and test cases) and perform hands-on testing for internally developed or external purchased products. Types of testing may include system, integration, regression, or end-to-end testing. Senior IT Testing Specialists will deploy and execute job streams for creating test beds, as appropriate, as well as design test scenarios, author test scripts, execute tests, and track defects to certify that applications meet approved system requirements. Senior IT Testing Specialists will collaborate with other IT staff as appropriate to review and understand system requirements and design, review, test strategy and designs, identify resolution for defects identified during testing, and analyze and make specific recommendations on usability/functionality improvements that can be integrated into business processes. Job Duties: Creating test approaches, identifying scope of testing with risk-based approaches for each feature or scope of work in a project effort, identifying test environments, dependencies, and constraints, and prioritizing test cases and scheduling time for testing Ensuring end-to-end testing methodology, including all appropriate documentation and requirements Setting-up software and hardware in the test lab, per specs Ensuring test results are accurate, thorough, and appropriately documented Communicating results and coordinating logistics to Systems Analysts, Developers, and other key IT staff and leadership, as appropriate Documenting problems or results inconsistent with expected results Performing quality assurance tests on all work and detailed analysis on test results Certifying applications for release to the next testing stage or production environment Generating and distributing periodic status reports for testing Setting-up and executing complex scripts independently Setting-up test data beds based on data matching specific test conditions Creating and executing moderately complex SQL queries Executing automated test scripts Writing/coordinating the resolution of system defects, ensuring appropriate hand-offs and re-testing Providing technical guidance to other IT Testing Specialists, as needed Participating in requirements gathering sessions and soliciting information on incomplete requirements Participating in the facilitation and coordination of User Acceptance Testing Designing tests to aid learning and mitigate risks Working with developers to create automated tests and with Business Analysts and other stakeholders to undertake exploratory testing Ensuring stories contain specific acceptance test conditions which communicate objectives to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Assisting Product Owners in coming up with acceptance criteria for user stories Job Qualifications: 5-8 years of professional experience in an IT development or testing environment, with strong manual back-end testing skills, required Strong expertise using SQL Experience with database testing, HP Quality Center, and Microsoft Office Suite products Strong knowledge of the SDLC and STLC Strong knowledge of testing concepts and the ability to create and execute test cases and unique test scenarios Experience with testing management tools, including Automated (Selenium, Robotium, TestComplete, QTP, SoapUI, Visual Studio Test Pro) and Manual tools (Selenium, Appium, JMeter, Jenkins, TestLink, Mantis, Postman, Firbug) Ability to extract data utilizing moderately complex SQL queries Ability to read logical and physical data models and understand the relationship between various tables Ability to clearly identify data needs and requirements for their respective test efforts Ability to execute automated test scripts, as needed Ability to read various system input/output files, including XML, Flat, 834, 835, etc. A thorough understanding of the business process(es) and flows involved in system capabilities being tested A thorough understanding of As-Is and To-Be business processes to understand what's changing Ability to communicate with the business in business language and with developers in technical language Experience in healthcare or financial domains preferred Experience using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodology preferred Experience with Hadoop or Hive preferred Experience with automated testing preferred A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related field, or equivalent work experience required Note: This role is NOT open to C2C or 3rd party candidates #ALINE11 A-Line Staffing Solutions
