ICU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Neuro ICU, LAC Resource Team
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/01/2025, End: 2/28/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour Night Shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per month
• Float Requirement: Travelers float first as needed
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780-$1910

ICU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical ICU nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccination or approved declination
• Experience in a teaching hospital preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork skills
• All requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to acceptance
• No local travelers within 60 miles of Lynchburg, VA

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to neuro ICU patients with both surgical and medical diagnoses
• Monitor and assess patients using advanced clinical equipment: vital signs monitors, glucometers, SCDs, bladder scanners, vein finders, remote telemetry, wound vacs, IV pumps, pulse oximeters, chest tubes, tube feeding pumps, and oxygen delivery devices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and support students and new hires in a teaching hospital environment
• Float to other critical care units as required by hospital needs
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation and uphold patient safety standards
• Provide patient education and advocate for best clinical outcomes
