Furniture Repair Technician

Job Summary

Assess and evaluate level of damage
Upholstery repair
Wood repair
Cleaning

General Accountabilities

Mixes finish ingredients to obtain desired colors or shades.
Brushes, sprays, or hand-rubs finishing ingredients onto and into wood grain.
Applies lacquer or other sealers.
Smoothens, shapes, and touches up surfaces to prepare them for finishing.
Selects appropriate finishing ingredients.
Fills and smoothen cracks or depressions, removes marks or imperfections, and repairs broken parts.

Job Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: at least one year of furniture cleaning and repair
Must be able to effectively communicate with customers
Must pass background check
Must have valid driver's license
Must have valid insurance
Must be able to provide your own transportation

Skills

Being able to do simple cleanings
Must be able to learn/folllow procedures
Must be able to do upholstery
Critical thinking
Must be able to handle simple wood repairs
Coordination
Must be able to document pre and post work condition of furniture
