A production operator is responsible for ensuring the production line operates efficiently. They are responsible for running equipment and machinery, inspecting products, and performing quality control checks. We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Overhead Crane Operator with hands-on experience operating 15-ton cranes using 6-way remote controls. Production operators are also responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Responsibilities included but not limited to:

Follow production schedules and work orders to achieve daily objectives
Operate overhead bridge cranes (15 and 20 ton) using a 6-way remote control to lift, position, and place coils.
Perform pre-operational inspections of crane systems, hooks, slings, and attachments.
Operate and monitor production equipment, tools, and machine following standard operating procedures
Clean work area according to safety and hygiene standards
Search for minor equipment faults; report major ones to maintenance personnel
Record production data: output quantities, quality control results, performance of equipment
Work together with colleagues to ensure smooth workflow and achieve the required production
Follow all safety measures in place and wear related personal protective equipment
Perform routine preventative maintenance
Comply with all OSHA and company safety rules
Assist in training new operators in the operation of the machinery and in safety procedures
Operate material handling equipment such as forklift when necessary
Assist with equipment changeovers between production runs
Follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all their tasks
Maintain proper communication with supervisors and co-workers regarding ongoing productions and issues

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in production, manufacturing or other related fields
Minimum 2 years' operating overhead crane (15 tons)
Familiarity with manufacturing machinery and equipment
Ability to handle physical workload
Ability to work long hours and weekends
